Web Hosting

A web hosting service is a type of internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. It is the basis of all websites and is able to help owners attract visitors, communicate with the audience, and survive the internet world. In order for a website to be available at anyone at anytime, it needs to host with a web host which is a service provider that places the web site on a computer that is connected to the internet. This will allow people surfing the net a way to access the website. Web hosting companies use several computers called “servers” that are set up to serve up and host thousands of websites.

Website owners would need a domain name in order for visitors to have easy access to the site. There are two kinds of websites to choose from. Static or simple sites will allow owners to build one or more web or HTML pages. The owner will then upload the pages to the host’s sever using FTP software. Every time the owner needs to change something on the site, they will have to edit the pages and upload them again. Dynamic sites, on the other hand, will allow owners to install software or web application on their web server. This software will allow owners to add and edit content anytime and directly online without needing special tools.

There are two categories for hosting technology: Linux hosting and Windows hosting. There are also different types of hosting such as free hosting, shared hosting, Virtual Private Servers (VPS), Co-located hosting and Dedicated Servers. And when it comes to choosing the perfect hosting company, website owners would need to look at the company’s performance, uptime and of course, their customer service.
